Our horizontal windlasses are constructed with stainless steel rather than aluminum housings. Offered either with a powder coated or highly polished finish, they are both rugged and attractive.

Inside these, as well as our vertical models, the gearing is both powerful and oversized. Solid bronze castings are used for all gypsies, wildcats, capstans, release wheels, friction plates and brake parts. They weigh more than aluminum, however their life expectancy is far greater and they can be disassembled 15, 20 or even 25 years later.

Our ability to build custom windlasses makes the selection and installation of windlasses easy even in the most difficult of situations.  Because we fabricate our own gear boxes, we have the capability of offering a wide range of customized units. Often this makes the difference in the designing or refurbishing of a vessel.
