This chart gives rough parameters developed over 64 years of experience. Please keep in mind it is a guide to zero in on the right size. Many factors need to be considered: size of the vessel, the anchor, the chain, the displacement, the windage and anchoring habits. Different locales present different challenges. We offer a wide variety of choice to match your needs with the right equipment. Also, please remember, more is not necessarily better. A 700 pound anchor on the bow of your 40 boat will drastically affect its performance.
